Competition:
The most exiting personal achievement during my studies was putting my architectural design skills into practice by winning a national competition for historical garden design. The competition was published
in a national magazine called Gartenpraxis (garden experience), the three best proposals were chosen
by a committee, and afterwards the first place was voted by the viewers of the magazine.

Theme:
The theme of the exhibition was called ´man in the garden` my goal was to creatively combine plant arrangements with art. This all should have reference to the general topic in harmony with the baroque environment. My interpretation of the mythological character Atlas `Rise of the Atlas´ won first price and was shown at a national garden festival, for garden design at the baroque castell Fasanerie in Eichenzell, Germany.

Fusion

Urban Design in Würzburg

This university project is based on a detailed scenario my colleges and I constructed for the site of the „New Harbor“ in Würzburg. In addition to the master plan that forecasts future expansion one of our main goals was to include the enjoyment of the local Würzburg: „City [In]fusion“ populace. It was important to us, to use public transport, as „life stream“ that connects the harbor to the city center. Like a vein that transports blood to the heart.

For a successive development of the area we provided various possibilites of wide scope.

Our goal was to create a successive area for Würzburg which will have recognizability one day, with the growth of the city and population.

Social approach to communal life

The goal was to propose an alternative way of living. Residents should interact more with their neighbors and environment to create more harmony in the area. This was realized by not only placing common space in the back or front yards but also by creating public spaces on the roof tops such as BBQ or relaxation areas. Furthermore, the roofs were partly being planted to create a flowing transition form nature area to living area. Due to the flowing lines there is no strict distinction between recreational area and living space. In addition, it was important to us to build a sustainable living model according to the demographic change, for an integrative living that includes recycling, group dynamics and individuality.

Constructive concept:
The residential area should consist of convoluted containers, that are not statically pushed together, instead leave more room and space for the individual container house. The snake shaped form enables the residents to receive more sunlight and forms a garden like natural ground which can be used as common space. Furthermore, the unusual shape creates more privacy and space compared to regular town housing. Principles for a city in harmony with nature are the appreciation of nature and its needs e.g. sunlight, space, water etc. In order to establish the area according to the needs of the local populace we asked the local people of Ebersberg about their ideas and suggestion and made a video about it.

During my internship I was led into big scale projects all over the Far East and Europe, it was challenging to deal with customers from different cultural backgrounds and apply my knowledge according to their needs. In the following examples I was able to let my creative imagination flow. On the left hand and the following side you can see examples of plans for urban design, sections of traffic realm, presentation poster, 3D modeling, perspectives and sculptural design.

Dreiklang

Bachelorthesis

The subject of my bachelor thesis was to create a concept for a special site in Rosenheim (bavaria). The specialty of this area is that it is a connecting point of two rivers, which holds a unique landscape. Due to its uniqueness the Federal Garden Show of Bavaria was placed at this spot in 2010. Even though the scenery is beautiful and the special sphere of nature connects the city to the country side, the area contains significant weaknesses infrastructure and townscape. While starting my concept I analysed the area with all senses and decided to base my design on the „aural experiences“ in order to revaluate the area. The new urban shape I created was supposed to build a protection against noise emission.

With a Swot Analysis I was able to figure out the major strength and weaknesses this area contained. I used the concept of aural impression to guide people from the polluted city to the curative nature by forming three areas (urban-sound, residential-sound, nature-sound). The peak of the area should be utilized as flooding zone to bring nature dynamics closer to men (nature-sound).

While the middle part should be used as a quiet and unique residential area which contains places for people with special needs e.g. refugees, students or people that are in need of inclusion into society (residential-sound). The third part should become a valuable area for mixed-uses (business, housing and cultural facilities), to integrate the urban-sound and preserve the rest of the emmission.
